Warriors pick up Belinelli's option

Given the amount of PT Belinelli gets, you wonder why the Warriors would bother? Nelson is a bad coach, pure reputation. He overplays some guys, underplays the rest, and runs the dumbest offense in the league, consisting of nothing but one-on-one play.

Belinelli is a spectacular player. If he had been drafted by the Knicks, instead of Gallinari, getting to play under D'antoni, he would be an all-star this year. Instead, he rots on Nelson's bench. Pure b.s.

The Golden State Warriors on Friday exercised the third-year contract options on guard Marco Belinelli.

Belinelli, the 18th overall pick of the 2007 draft, averaged 2.9 points in 33 games last season. The Italian swingman will make approximately $1.55 million next season.

Rob Kurz waived, picked up

Rob Kurz (6'9 232 PF) undrafted rookie out of Notre Dame, was waived today.

Kurz appeared in four of Golden State's six preseason games, averaging 4.5 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 14 minutes per game.

He gained notoriety for hitting a game winning shot with time expiring against the Bucks in China this preseason.

Update: Kurz was picked back up by the Warriors, on Nov. 3.

Dan Dickau waived

The Warriors waived point guard Dan Dickau on Sunday, clearing the way for Oakland-born, Vallejo-raised DeMarcus Nelson to make the team. Nelson was invited to training camp on a non-guaranteed contract but quickly became a favorite of coach Don Nelson's with his gritty defense.

Dickau played in just two of the Warriors' four exhibition games and averaged 5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2 steals in 12 minutes.

Belinelli shines

Marco Belinelli (6'5 192 SG, 2nd year) has shown offensive brilliance since the summer league before his first season, but sat most of the his rookie year on the bench, averaging just 7 minutes. He played his way into the league with an outstanding performance for Team Italy in the 2006 World Championships, especially when he torched the American team.

Hopefully another strong pre-season will earn him some well-deserved PT. Last night he torched the Bucks for 22 points (on 13 shots) to go with 6 assists while playing a team-high 45 minutes. Belinelli is long and smooth, playing much like Ginobili, and has the potential to be great.

Dan Dickau to Warriors

Dan Dickau (6'0 180), 6 year pro, will attempt to resurrect his career with the Warriors.

Dan's career has so far peaked in '04/'05, when he averaged 13.2 ppg and 5.2 apg over 31.0 mpg with the Hornets. Since then his minutes have plunged, peaking last year at 15.5 mpg with the Clippers.
